Billy carter

Like a hurricane, you hear about Billy Carter's live set long before you see it for yourselves. Snippets come through: they lived in London for years, their guitarist is a blues genius, their front woman wails into the mic with a voice like a torn dress and all the swagger of a drugged up Elvis, their drummer is tight like a fist, there's a melodica involved... Then you see them and you realise the hype is all wrong, because nothing in the world can prepare you for the spunk, humour and oddity of this bluesy, ballsy wonder.

Billy Carter are like no other live act you'll ever see.

HJ: Rock drummers in the 60s and 70s.

JN: My mom in a good and bad way.

BOT: What’s been your lowest and highest point as a band?

JW: We are still alive playing music around. That makes the highest point whatever happens to us.

Aphex Twin eat your heart out. This video is trippy af.

BOT: Tell us a little about the Seoul indie scene?

JW: Indie music scene is not so huge in Korea, but I can tell you there are loads of great bands.

JN: Seoul indie scene is quite interesting and great. Totally different i think!

BOT: Any other great Korean bands we should be checking out?

JW: I can recommend, like, hundreds of good bands, but check these out first: Jambinai, Galaxy Express, Dead Buttons, 57, DTSQ, Love X Stereo, Skasucks, Say Sue Me and DIEALRIGHT. Then you'll be ready to dig on some more Korean indie music.

JN: I recommend Crawler. Those young guys sound fun.

BOT: You have the chance to play one song for a legend of your choice. What do you play?

JW: I think it'll depend on how I feel at the very moment then.

BOT: What do we have to look forward to in the coming months from you?

HJ: We will continue to perform and we will be working on a new album soon. Please look forward to it.

BOT: Donald Trump has invited you to play a private party for him. He’ll pay you $1,000,000. Nobody ever has to know. Do you play?

HJ: Haha. No.

JN: Maybe he is fun like a comedian not politician so it will be fun!

JW: Why not? It doesn't have to be secret either. The cash will be donated to support the victims of hate and sex crime, and refugees.
