Herbstsonne

There's something about Herbstsonne that despite Chilean origins is lovingly British: think Felt or mid-80s The Cure. Modulated guitar and simple but catchy melodies are to be expected from the four-piece, who we catch up with before their showing at this month's Clash Symbols.

Bang On Team: Tell us a little about your band.
Herbstonne: Herbstsonne's sound trip is a melodic experience that generates atmospheres, and at the same time, a tele-transportation to different imaginary spaces. This Berliner band is formed by Cecilia Pez on vocals/keyboards, Charlie Rex on electric guitar, Alex Geell on drums, and F. Pez on Bass.

BOT: Why did you start to make music?
H: Because we think that music is what involves everything; sound/space, feelings/emotions,
time/present. It makes you feel alive!

BOT: What’s been your best moment as a band so far?
H: There are a lot of moments, but I think the first time that we (Charlie Rex & Cecilia) played
the first notes of Herbstsonne, the song, we really caught the sun into our lives and you can feel
it every concert!

BOT: Who are three bands everyone should listen to right now?
H: Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Connan Mockasin.

BOT: How do you prepare for a gig?
H: Rehearsal, drink, rehearsal, sleep, rehearsal, walk.

BOT: What can people look forward to about your set?
H: The audience should give themselves to our storytelling and let the sounds, rhythms and
melodies penetrate them!

BOT: Finish the sentence. If I wasn’t making music I would...
H: Make music anyway because everything is music. Thank you.
