Off-kilter, dark, dangerous, Mademoiselle X explores insurgent themes through good ol' fashioned rock 'n' roll.
Bang On Team: Tell us a little about your project.
Mademoiselle X: It’s a collection of impulses and extrasensory experiences. Also primitive, pretentious.
BOT: Why did you start to make music?
MX: Have you ever seen the Blues Brothers film? Do you remember the scene when brothers walk into the church and see James Brown? Jake is enlightened and yells, "CAN YOU SEE THE LIGHT? THE BAND! THE BAND!”
So, one day, I experienced the same.
BOT: What’s been your best moment as an artist so far?
MX: When I told my mom, I will be pressed by Slovenly with the other band, and she said, "Whatever, go to school.”
BOT: Who are three bands everyone should listen to right now?
MX: Listening to music is dangerous. Finding new bands can leave you astonished or depressed. Are you sure you want to know more bands?
BOT: How do you prepare for a gig?
MX: I think I've played with different bands for three years now. I still don’t know how to prepare for a show.
BOT: What can people look forward to about your set?
MX: I never know 'til the last seconds what’s going to happen.
BOT: Finish the sentence. If I wasn’t making music I would…
MX: …be a prostitute, murderer or a chef.
