Tell us about People Club.
We are a five-piece indie soul band based in Berlin. A lot of our inspiration comes from ‘60s soul music, but equally we love analogue synthesisers and obscure effects, so our sound splices these old and new influences. Our lyrics often address social themes, such as feminism. So yeah, we’ve got a message a share, and that’s what drives us.
What are you most looking forward to at Bang On fest?
We had loads of fun the last time we played at Bang On and got really good vibes from the team. The crowd was amazing too! Super energetic and a pleasure to play for. More of that please.
If someone only had time to listen to one of your songs, which one would you choose and why?
Our forthcoming single ‘Lonesome’. It was on of the first songs we wrote together so it’s a real special track for us.
What does the “DIY” indie scene mean to you?
It means genuine people doing things for the good of the scene with no ulterior motives. Passionate people who care about the community.
What are your plans for the rest of the year?
We are super excited to release our debut singles ‘Lonesome’ and 'Better' in May with a tour to follow. We are also supporting the wonderful ‘Darjeeling’ in Wuppertal on 13 April which will definitely be loads of fun!
