Rushes of rhythm with layers of stunning vocals, People Club bring what they call ‘naughty’ bass lines and groovy bangers to Clash Symbols. Add to this keys full of character and swoon-induing choruses and you’ve got a recipe for a great night.
Bang On Team: Tell us a little about your band.
People Club: We’re called People Club and we’re based in Berlin. We’re spearheading the new budgetwave scene and play mainly groovy bangers. Our official debut single is burning hot and will be out soon so keep your ears peeled.
BOT: Why did you start to make music?
PC: We like telling stories and making naughty basslines and stuff. Making tunes is like a nice holiday from the post-industrial society we live in.
BOT: What’s been your best moment as a band so far?
PC: We played a super lovely gig for all our chums back in July in Berlin at Kugelbahn. It was a real special night.
BOT: Who are three bands everyone should listen to right now?
PC: Puma Blue, Fenster, Sorry.
BOT: How do you prepare for a gig?
PC: We decide what tracks we’re gonna play, and then run through that set until it’s sounding really tight. Maybe chuck in a couple of rough ideas for good measure to see how they go down in a live setting! Always a treat.
BOT: What can people look forward to about your set?
PC: Having a good dance, naughty basslines, plus some new material we’ve not played out yet.
BOT: Finish the sentence. If we weren’t making music…
PC: We would be pony-riding in the foothills of the Swiss Alps.
