Tell us a little about your project.
Johanna: We met in Berlin, playing the same underground venues and bars, and busking in 2012. We all have our solo projects but kinda experience and play music on a similar emotional frequency, and that's why we love to put our songs together and perform as a trio. Evelin lives in Oslo nowadays, so we're happy to have her come to play in Berlin with us!
What’s been your best moment as a band so far?
Johanna: When we first sang a song together and laughed and cried.
Evelin: I get goose bumps when a song is about to end and someone in the audience starts making noise…
Trinidad: When I heard the audience singing along for the first time. Something so intimate for me once, then becomes part of that whole moment.
How do you prepare for a gig?
Evelin: Get dressed up with a glass of wine, kiss myself in the mirror, and take five deep breaths focusing on my heart. It’s true.
Trinidad: Stretching, breathing, and probably have a beer.
If you could have anyone in the audience at Bang On fest for your set, who would you choose and why?
Evelin: Probably Björk, Yoko Ono, Malala Yousafzai?
Trinidad: I think my ancestors, would be interesting.
What does Bang On Fest mean to you?
Evelin: A great opportunity to get together with friends in a somewhat safe space and celebrate that summer is on the rise.
Bang On Fest is all about promoting women in music. Favourite female artist?
Evelin: Fever Ray, Aldous Harding, Cardi B. It’s a mix.……
Johanna: PJ Harvey, Regina Spektor, Bands like Wye Oak, Little Drago
Trinidad: Hard question. Etta James, Soledad Bravo, Yva Las Vegas, Violeta Parra, Adrianne Lenker, and more
What can people look forward to about your set?
Evelin: Deeply rooted trust and love.
Johanna: a lot of beautiful melodies and blues.
Trinidad: To have a connection through our music, with the stories and melodies that we three put together.
Catch Q.U.O.I at Bang On Fest, April 7th.
