Tell us about Scrounge.
We're Scrounge, a two-piece punk band from South London. We make loud, noisy music to try and make sense of life in desperate times.

What are you most looking forward to at Bang On fest?
Engaging with like-minded people in an inclusive, forward-looking environment, and connecting with members of the exciting DIY scenes in other cities and countries.

If someone only had time to listen to one of your songs, which one would you choose and why?
Crimson, our latest single. It's an intense but clear distillation of the kind of work we're trying to make at the moment.

What does the “DIY” indie scene mean to you?
A scene with a grassroots, no-frills mentality, that approaches great art and radical ideas in an earnest, constructive way, and which offers a platform for new and marginalised voices to make themselves heard.

What are your plans for the rest of the year?
We're planning to release a new single in a couple of months' time, plus an EP before the year is out. Between those things, we just want to keep playing and putting on great shows, and trying to push ourselves into challenging new creative areas.

See Scrounge at Bang On Fest #2, Saturday 30 March at Zukunft am Ostkreuz.
