Comprised of members from prominent Berlin bands such as Dropout Patrol and Trompetenvogel Trondheim, Yacht Communism plaster the audience to the back of the room with their deafening wall of sound and haunting vocals.
BangOn Team: Tell us a little about your band. What’s your sound?
Yacht Communism: We started out of the blue with no real concept, but it turned out we threw together some post-hardcore, some dub and some psychedelic whatnot.
BOT: Who are your biggest influences?
YC: Club Mate and painkillers.
BOT: What’s been your lowest and highest point as a band?
YC: That night when Leonie ate food with banana in it and almost died. That night when Leonie ate food with banana in it and survived.
BOT: What’s your ultimate aim?
YC: A psychological symptom named after one of us.
BOT: You have the chance to play one song for a legend of your choice. What do you play?
YC: 'Wonderwall' to Oasis without rehearsing.
BOT: What does Berlin do for you musically?
YC: Being able to still feed the cat and sleep in your own bed after a show.
